Video: Pure Darkness 3.0 – Breaking Ground

· By Press Office · 2 comments

Pure Darkness was first unleashed on the world in 2014 as Sam Reynolds, Matt Macduff and Danny Pace took to the road in the UK with one goal; to film in their words the ‘darkest’ MTB project ever. What that came to mean for the rest of the world was the most heavy hitting, action packed riding edit that salutes the early era of freeride MTB film making.

In 2015 the crew expanded to include Adam Williams , Blake Samson and Dylan Stone as they headed to South Africa’s Garden Route Trail Park. What happened next could not have been predicted but the brain child of Sam Reynolds and Matt Macduff was born – Pure Darkness 2, The Step Up. This trip broke boundaries in what was possible on a bike and the final edit left people questioning what the hell they were thinking.

“The childhood dream of turning a field into the raddest jumps of all time may finally becoming true! We have two machines, we have the field and we have the 60ft roll in tower, all we need to do now is build the raddest dirt jumps of all time!!

On the 4th of January 2016 Sam Reynolds and Matt Macduff returned to the Garden Route Trail Park, their new home for the next 6 weeks. The machinery has arrived and building commenced for Pure Darkness 3.0. On the 1st of February Sam and Matt will be joined by videographer Tom Grundy and a line up of Pure Darkness riders to unleash chaos once again.

Check in with Sam and Matt as they Break Ground at the Garden Route Trail Park, building for Pure Darkness 3.0.

Over the coming 6 weeks we will be providing regular updates from project so stay tuned!

Super stoked on how everything’s kicked off, and even more stoked to be working with Reynold’s on such an epic project! There’s not a doubt in my mind, Pure Darkness 3.0 is going too set new standards for ‘Big Air MTB’ and become corner stone of mountain bike progression.
