Epic Photo Comp: Stage 4

· By Bike Hub Features · 2 comments

On each day of the Absa Cape Epic, the team of skilled photographers create spectacular images for us to enjoy. Bike Hub will be holding a competition to recognise their hard work and give you the chance to win a signed copy of your favourite photograph.

Take a look at the selection of photographs from the Absa Cape Epic Stage 4 and vote for your favourite to go into the finals.

In the fairness of voting, the photographers will remain anonymous until the voting period has closed.

Jaroslav Kulhavy charging downhill to try and catch up to the lead bunch after an inopportune sidewall cut in the last 15km of Stage 4. Maximum respect to him and Sauser for making it back to 4th for the day, and to my pilot Schalk for flying the chopper in reverse alongside all of this allowing me to snap this image at 1/80th.

I’ve spent most of the time in the shuttle to get around. This shots was taken out of the car while we tried to get ahead of the field right after the start.

What a day of racing. Punctures and other technical issues littered the leading pack throughout the stage. Scott came through with 1st and 2nd team in men’s with the ‘senior’ team allowing the ‘junior’ team the honour of the day. Scott won the mixed category yet again.

How it works

  • Every day each photographer will submit their favourite shot with a short note explaining its context.
  • Each day’s winning photograph will go through to the “finals” on Wednesday, March 29.
  • You will then get an opportunity to vote for the overall winner, who will get a R10 000 prize.
  • The result will be announced on Monday, April 3, and voters who chose the winning picture will go into a lucky draw for a signed and framed version of the photograph.
