How it works

The Absa Cape Epic Fantasy League is all about putting your race insight, commitment, and luck to the test. You'll need to correctly predict daily and overall results per category.
  • Submit your overall picks
Pick your overall winning teams for each of the eight categories.
Closing date: 6am SAST on Sunday, 18 March 2018.
  • Submit your daily picks
Pick your stage winning teams for each of the eight categories, every day of the race.
Closing date: 6am SAST on the morning of each stage.
You will earn points based on your picks. The highest points scorer on the day will win the Daily Prize, and the overall leader at the end will win the Grand Prize. Find out more about the points allocation here.

Where can we see who got the most points for the day?

roundabout way - but you look and see who won the prizes, not sure what happens if there is a tie.

We've added a stage specific leaderboard view too: https://epicfantasyl....za/leaderboard

In the event of a tie we do a random draw from the tied top scorers.

Should have a category next year for fastest team sleeping in tents

Edit:

Can we please get an update on the winner of last year to ride this year's 2018 Cape Epic and how they are doing (hubname = sram - gone quiet on the hub after winning the entry)?

Here is their team... those are some serious hours in the saddle so I wouldn’t expect updates from them personally this week.

Would be great to hear their story afterwards 👍

YES, Winning this should include a requirement to post updates during the race!!!

(although the winner hasn't been here since Mugabe was still in charge so i wouldn't hold out hope! https://www.bikehub....er/15028-sram/)

I ended up on 1200 odd points as well. Losing two of the big teams in male and female that would have been in contention for Overall title destroyed many hopes as there was a bonus 200 points on offer there.

It would be great if you could change that Overall option up to maybe day 4 as there's so many things that can go wrong for a team in the Epic.

no way jose.

You got to pick the overall winner before the prologue rolls out. It keeps way more teams in contention

Where's the skill in selecting Langvad when she's 35mins up on the field?!

Hi All,

It happens when you are a couple but you can't agree on who to pick for your predictions.
At least we did agree on who we wanted to ride with :-)
Never expected to end 1st and 2nd though... (thx Matthias Stirneman  :whistling: )

Congrats. So you’ll be riding the epic together as a couple seeing that both of you entered the competition?

BikeHub Plus, Mar 06 2019 10:03

Admin...i take it this is not happening in 2019?

if so i will set up a redux version

It's not like the race is sold out......

They should have definitely set this up to create some interest. Without anything at stake, I really couldn't give a trimmed pube who does what unless it's Matt and Alan...

We could probably pick up an entry tomorrow.

Wanna tell our wives we are going to be away for a few days? I'm sure they can garden, walk dogs and babysit together quite happily.

Larry Montana, Mar 12 2019 05:48

Hey y'all ..... is this happening or what ????

BaGearA, Mar 12 2019 06:10

Just check that DSV-SCOTT-SRAM are eligible for men's Africa jersey? Surely Lars Forster is Swiss or something?

Twaatie, Mar 14 2019 08:16
