RockShox announce new Yari and Lyrik forks + Pike & BoXXer updates

· By Press Office · 12 comments

Everything you love in Pike in a stiffer, more capable, longer travel option. We built the new Lyrik for the riders who know there will always be more to explore, more to challenge and more to conquer.

If it’s out there, they’re going to ride it, and the new Lyrik will always be up to the task. It’s built on a stiffer yet lightweight 35mm chassis, equipped with the world-acclaimed Charger Damper featuring new Torque Cap and Boost compatibility, and is available in 160mm-180mm travel options for 27.5” and 150mm-160mm for 29”. Lyrik combines single crown weight and agility with dual crown strength and aggression, blurring the lines of capability that limit all other forks in its class. The new Lyrik is built to inspire confidence and give you that much more. So keep going – Lyrik is ready.

RockShox offers Boost 110 compatible options of its most popular forks

With revolutionary advancements in bicycle componentry, like SRAM’s XX1, X01 and X1 drivetrains, mountain bike designers have been given almost limitless freedom to focus solely on the performance of the bike. Each advancement demands that the entire package works flawlessly. Aggressive trail and enduro riders have been increasingly enjoying the benefits of larger wheels, but many still view 27.5″ and 29″ wheels as a possible weak link. Which is why SRAM has developed an open standard with Boost compatible components for SRAM drivetrain, hubs and RockShox forks.

  • 27.5” Boost 110 option is available on Pike, Lyrik and Yari
  • 29” Boost 110/27.5+ option is available on SID, Reba, Pike, Lyrik and Yari.
  • All 29” forks with Boost 110 compatibility also fit 27.5” Plus (27.5” x 3.0 tires)

Unique to RockShox: Torque Caps

Larger interface between dropout and hub end cap results in stiffer front end – increased steering precision, better bike handling, more confidence.

Lyrik and Yari are Torque Cap compatible in both 15×100 and Boost 110 (15×110) models

All RockShox 15x110mm forks are Torque Cap compatible (SID, Reba, Pike, Lyrik, Yari)

Torque Caps are compatible with the following SRAM wheels and hubs: Rise XX, Rise 60, Roam 30, Roam 40, Rail 40 and X0 hubs.

Pike and BoXXer Updates

  • User tunable rebound damping via internal shims (same as BoXXer)

Would be keen to strap that to one of the new breed shorter travel hecklers.

I think I saw 180mm on Pinkbike...

So basically, Lyrik is now a heavier, bigger, stiffer Pike and the Yari is a budget alternative to the Pike without having to go for the skinnier Revelation?

I reckon once XT 11 speed comes out and you have the Yari you can do a nice R40k build of a Pascoe which will still hold its own with the current top spec XX1 Pike builds.  What's not to like?!

except that the Revelation has the Charger damper vs the motion control of the Yari.

I like it though.

Revelation has remarkable torsional rigidity for a '32 chassis. For lightweight riders. In my experience.

Yari opens up a compelling enduro fork option at an affordable price point as Nico said, but perhaps its most remarkable application could be as a HT or SS trail fork at shorter travel specifications: considering those '35 stanchions. Yari could become the option if you like mowing through rock gardens or really have the talent - and/or mass - to seriously load the front through faster stuff.

120mm 650B Yari, with its 35mm chassis, is an interesting thing.

I think everything is getting fatter and stiffer not just the gravity stuff. Its not just a requirement in uber long forks anymore because they take bigger hits. Stiffness is something that every rider can benefit from.

Having said that I think they offer the wide range of travel in the yari because, well.. they can. The older stuff like revelation and sektor were longer travel forks with the same noodly pipes as the shorter reba's and stuff. Totem and domains was where the beef was at because well yea they were longer so they needed it.

At least that's how it was.

Its just a newer, broader standard. Which I think makes more sense going forward.

So, does anyone on here have any first-hand experience with the new Yari?

Edit: Just read that the fork will only be available in October. It is OEM on a few 2016 bikes that can be bought now.
