First Look Friday: BH G6 Pro, Albedo100, Bellwether gloves, Cadence bar

First Look Friday is an introduction to the products that we are currently testing for review. This week we’re featuring the BH G6 Pro aero road bike, Albedo100 reflective spray, Bellwether gloves, and Cadence Nutrition CarboFuel energy bar.

BH G6 Pro Ultegra Di2

The G6 Pro is BH Bikes full carbon aero road bike. As the name suggests, the Ultegra Di2 model features Shimano’s second from top of the range in electronic gearing and brake systems except for the crankset which is FSA SL-K. The carbon wheels are BH’s own EVO C55 clincher laced with flat spokes.

Bellwether Gloves

Bellwether is a new brand for us at Bike Hub. A quick internet search shows that the California based company has been making cycling gear for over 40 years. We’re interested to see if this experience shows in their gloves.

Vector

The Vector mountain bike gloves promise a lightweight minimal palm design that stretches and contours with the palm for precise handlebar control. It features a ventilated design, flexion points on fingers, crash pads, silicone grips on braking fingers and a simple pull-on design. The Bellwether Vector gloves are set to retail for R455.00.

Supreme

The Supreme is a short finger road glove. The Supreme has different designs for women and men. We’ve got the ladies specific model. The Supreme features ergonomically positioned gel padding, a textured palm for grip, finger pulls and a sweat wiping area. The recommended retail pricing for the short fingered Supreme is R275.00.

Ultra Gel

Belwether’s Ultra Gel is a road glove designed to absorb road shock using soft gel padding. Features include articulated palm padding, venting mesh, simple pull-on with finger pulls for removal, terry cloth thumb area and reflective piping and logos. Recommend price for the Ultra Gel is R460.00.

Albedo100 Reflective Spray

Albedo100 is a spray that reflects light, helping to make objects visible in low light conditions. Albedo100 comes in 3 variants depending on the type of surface being sprayed: Light Metallic for hard surfaces, Invisible Bright for textiles, and Horse and Pets for, you guessed it, applying to fur.

We’ll be spraying our bikes and clothing and heading out to see how well the spray reflects and for how long.

For initial, testing we sprayed our office Qhubeka Buffalo with the Light Metallic spray and turned on the flash.

Cadence Nutrition CarboFuel Energy Bar

The CarboFuel Energy bar is Cadence Nutrition’s newest product. We couldn’t help but have a nibble in the office yesterday but we’ll hold our judgement until we’ve tried it out on the bike.

Ingredients: Cane Sugar, Glucose Syrup, Cranberries, Honey, Actiwhite (Dried Egg Albumen, Sucrose, Thickeners, Acidity Regulators), Flavouring. Allergens: Eggs.
