First Look Friday: Fox Transfer, BMC Teamelite, and Indola MTB gear

· By Press Office · 12 comments

First Look Friday is an introduction to the gear that we are currently testing for review. This week we’re featuring Fox’s Transfer dropper seatpost, the BMC Teamelite 01 and a set of Indola mountain bike kit.

Fox Transfer

Fox announced their all-new Transfer seatpost in June this year. The D.O.S.S. replacement features an infinitely adjustable design with the choice of internal or external cable routing. Available with either 100mm, 125mm, 150mm with a standard dropper remote or a shift lever type that can be mounted on the left hand side of your bar if you’re running a 1x drivertain. Fox worked hard on the design to achieve low lever force and great modulation to make it easy to regulate return speed and small height adjustments.

There is a range topping Factory Series that comes with Kashima Coat upper post or a performance series option with a black anodized upper post. Both versions are available in all three drop lengths and either 30.9 or 31.6

Features:

  • Low lever force provides consistent actuation pressure even with saddle weighted or unweighted
  • Two remote options: Left side below bar (for 1x) or Left/Right on bar (for 2x/3x)
  • Cable actuated with tool-free quick disconnect for easier installation and removal
  • 30.9 or 31.6 diameter
  • Drop options: 4in (100 mm), 5in (125 mm), 6in (150 mm)
  • Factory Series models feature Genuine Kashima Coat upper post
  • Performance Series models feature black anodized upper post

Local pricing to be confirmed shortly.

BMC Teamelite 01 XT

ccs-62657-0-65169000-1471597120.jpg

The BMC Teamelite 01 is a hardcore cross-country race hardtail with a twist. The Teamelite features 15 mm of rear-end compliance using a technology named Micro Travel Technology (MTT).

So why add some damping to a hardtail? Even this small bit of compliance is said to aid efficiency, improve traction, and reduce fatigue. BMC claim that the Teamelite offers these advantages while maintaining the direct power transfer of a hardtail. We’re interested to see how this translates out on the trail.

Yeah - can't argue that one. But it's a Friday plus I have an identical coloured Fourstroke with a Float shock standing right next to the Teamelite.

I wonder what will happen first: Indola making good looking baggies or Chris Willemse selling that Formula 33 fork...

Those Indola's look a slight bit naff but they fit amazingly well, made with tough materials and are very comfortable, price is also one of the best. If they made them slightly longer, lost the funky front pocket and made the side pockets with zips they would have a winner. What are they waiting for??

Agree. Quality and comfort not the issue. They're too short and the elastics in the leg openings are daft.

hi Philip here from Indola. These r SA's best selling MTB Baggies. We focused on function vs cost. "it's about the pad" Probably the best pad u're going to find in a Baggie in this country at any price.

I hear you guys re the other detail. Again eg There is no better place to keep stuff in a cycling pant than where that pocket is. Might look naff.

You have to remember that the uber trendies typically don't spend and are very much in the minority vs your weekend warrior.

Here's the future; http://indola.co.za/new-indola-mountain-bike-baggie-shells/ a shell, u wear your fave lycra underneath. mens on the right.

c ya at the trail head.
