· By Press Office · 3 comments

For loyal customers and new clients of one of Cape Town’s most popular bicycle shops, Freewheel Cycology, the wait is over. On the 11th of November 2015 Freewheel Cycology hosted their grand launch as a Specialized Concept Store, on their premises at 317 Main Road, Kenilworth.

After six months of expansion, construction and shopfitting, adding to the usual hustle and bustle of the constantly busy store, the expansion project is complete. Freewheel Cycology now has the floor space and modern retail aesthetics to match owners’, Lionel Murray and Richard Coram, passion for cycling and great service.

Long-time customers of Freewheel will remember when Lionel and Richard first opened the doors on the 27th of January 2013. But as the store’s popularity soared, on the back of the reputation for having one of the best workshops in the country, it was soon bursting at the seams and expansion was inevitable. With the introduction of Specialized Bicycles into the store last year the decision to expand Freewheel Cycology into a Specialized Concept Store was the next logical step to the growth plan.

With the Specialized Concept Store status comes dedicated S-Works, road, mountain and kiddies bike areas as well as the all-important ladies specific section and a Body Geometry Fitment Studio. The heart of Freewheel Cycology remains its excellent workshop, but now while your bike is being expertly serviced you can get yourself set-up correctly too. A Body Geometry bike fitment will not only improve your comfort on the bike but also reduce your chances of developing a repetitive strain injury.

For new customers to Freewheel Cycology, its location on Main Road in Kenilworth is a great attraction. Conveniently located for many Cape Town cyclists, on the thoroughfare between Constantia and the CBS of Claremont, Freewheel is on the way to work. This means you can drop your bike off in the morning and collect it, after work, in the afternoon. The shop’s relaxed and social atmosphere makes it easy to stop by for a chat too. Whether you’re keen on picking Richard’s brain on all things technical or want the latest industry news and trends from Lionel. Before you know it you’ll be having a coffee and discussing the new Camber FSR or the Venge ViAS.
