“Petie (owner of Helderberg Cycle World), the late Burry Stander and Concept Cyclery in Melrose Arch were the pioneers who got the snowball of Specialized’s Concept stores rolling in South Africa; for that we will always be grateful. Petie was the first in the Western Cape,” says Bobby Behan, Market Leader of Specialized Bicycles Africa. The store is situated right off the R44 enabling easy accessibility, the ample parking available makes it a perfect location for bike drop-offs and collections, just one of the many aspects that were carefully considered when building the store.

“Adding a further 80m2 to their front of store and updating the layout has really opened up the space.” says Kristy Yeld, Retail Manager for Specialized Bicycles Africa. They have also added a seated coffee area for their customers to enjoy and a designated kids area. The store also updated their Body Geometry Fit equipment to give the rider a really premium experience and their fully equipped workshop is running at optimum with some small yet strategic upgrades.

Helderberg Cycle World relaunched their new-look store on Wednesday 2 November with a small group of close friends and customers. “I would never have guessed we would have another opening so soon,” says a proud owner Petie Viljoen, “we are really happy with the new store upgrade and the additional space has allowed us to carry a complete range of Specialized bikes and increase our range of apparel, making sure we can satisfy all the rider needs.”
