STAGE 3 – 16 March 2016

Today we followed OMX Pro Bike Team team manager Paul Beales. Listen to him talk about the team strategy, and what it takes to prepare logistically for an undertaking like the Cape Epic. This is a peek behind the scenes of how a team runs during a stage race.

A hot, dusty and tough stage saw Martin and Sascha finish the stage in 13th position. They fought hard to keep a good position after an early puncture. Hear what they have to say about the stage.

STAGE 2 – 15 March 2016

After a good stage and great racing that saw Martin and Sascha finish 6th, we talk to Martin about an important topic, Nutrition. He covers what they eat and drink before, during and after a stage to help them recover, and to prepare them for the next day’s racing.

During Stage 2 Martin and Sascha kicked it into high gear and finished 6th on Stage 2. Hear what the have to say about the stage.

STAGE 1 – 14 March 2016

After such an intense stage, what do the OMX Pro Team riders do? Listen to Sascha as he explains what him and Martin do to recover.

Stage 1 was a tough one. The longest of all the stages, this really tested the endurance of all riders. See what Martin and Sascha has to say about Stage 1. We were sitting comfortably in 8th position but unfortunately a lost water bottle led to dehydration. Closer to the end Martin and Sascha drove each other to push the last few kilometers to finish strong and in high spirits for the next stage.
