The beautiful Boschendal Wine Estate has come on board as the new venue for the 2017 Fedhealth MTB Challenge on Saturday, 16 and Sunday, 17 September.

Mountain bikers of all ages can look forward to the estate’s spectacular, well-designed mountain bike tracks as well as wholesome family fun and gorgeous scenery.

Just a 45-minute drive from Cape Town, the Boschendal venue also promises ample parking and plenty of accommodation in the surrounding area, so that MTB families can make a weekend of it. One aspect of the event that hasn’t changed however, is that it is still organised by well-known sporting events company Stillwater Sports, ensuring that entrants will enjoy all the family-friendly amenities they’ve come to expect from the event.

As far as terrain is concerned, mountain bikers are in for a treat. Boschendal boasts unspoilt MTB trails that include well-maintained single track, mountainside jeep track and some farm road, making it the ideal venue for cyclists of all ages and skills sets. Riders can expect some sweet riding, panoramic single track with sweeping berms and table tops.

Says Jeremy Yatt, Fedhealth Principal Officer: “Fedhealth is all about family, and as such it’s only fitting that the Fedhealth MTB Challenge encourages family participation. So get those entries in – we are giving away picnic baskets filled with delicious food to the first 100 members who enter the event. Also, remember that entry is free to Fedhealth members!”

Founded in 1685, Boschendal Wine Estate is one of the oldest farms in South Africa. The farm has grown with the passing centuries into a cherished source of wholesome produce, great wines and happy memories.

With plenty of mountain biking challenges, heaps of family fun and a scenic day out of the city, the Fedhealth MTB Challenge is a not-to-be-missed event on the 2017 fitness and social calendar.
