Kargo Pro MTB Team signs Shimano as technical partner

· By Press Office · 3 comments

The Kargo Pro MTB Team is proud to announce that leading bicycle component developer, producer and distributor, Shimano, has been signed as the team’s technical partner for 2016.

Through a partnership with Coolheat SA, Shimano will supply the Elite team with shoes and pedals, as well as replacement parts throughout the new season.

“Kargo has become a strong team on the XCO circuit and has some really good results at the Absa Cape Epic and marathon events as well, combined with good exposure on the International scene, which made it a logical choice for us,” says Jade Mynhardt of Coolheat SA.

“Kargo is also giving a platform to many young riding talents in South Africa- something that we value highly and are excited to be involved with.”

“All the riders will undergo Shimano technical training classes which will prove valuable for the team when it comes to tech issues during races,” Jade concludes.

“Together with our title sponsor, Kargo, and new bike sponsor, Giant, we are delighted to welcome Shimano to the team,” says Kargo Pro MTB Team founder and principal, Shaun Peschl. “This is yet another important and exciting step forward for the team as we prepare for 2016. We are honoured to have a leading cycling brand like Shimano supporting us in our vision to create the most successful pro-MTB team in South Africa.”

Who says Momsen pulled out? Maybe the team found a new bike supplier?

I was under the impression Kargo pulled from the sponsorship scene?

Very happy though to see them invest in the sport. Wish them all the best for the season
