The Lesotho Sky Race is hosting its 6th edition next year; dates are 19th – 24th September 2016. The organisers are proud about the fact that the event uses 100% natural single track. The route makes use of paths and tracks, ordinarily used as trading routes by the Basotho (that’s how the people of Lesotho are referred to).

Despite being limited to a small field of 100 riders, the event enjoys a big international following and hosted riders from 12 different countries in the 2015 edition. The Lesotho Sky empowers riders from Lesotho and has produced some impressive results thus far. You might have never heard their names before, but the Basotho riders will test your legs to the limit.

The Lesotho Sky is designed for riders that are passionate about mountain biking. Every year the race hosts professional and amateur teams where the amateur teams make up 80% of the field. Like veins of the mountains, a network of trails connects rural villages and communities and makes the experience of riding the Lesotho Sky Race like no other.
The total distance is roughly 350km with 8900m ascent. The Lesotho Sky offers both solo and team entries.
