Participants were treated to perfect autumn weather and, of course, stunning trails and routes.

2018 saw the inaugural trail running section on a separate 5.2 km course. Willie Richards did a total of 24 laps of the course for a total of 125km – a remarkable feat.

Great achievements from mountain bikers included the Solo winner Herman Hattingh with 29 laps of the 11.5km route – that is more than 300km for the 24hour period.

The four-man team Wheel Deal did 37 laps in the One Four Zero category. The fun teams have 5 to 8 riders per team with a Paul Roos Gymnasium entering three fun teams, who all podiumed in that category.

The transition or start/finish area had free Powerade, a Squirtlube station, a massage service and bikeshop for mechanicals. Food & drinks were on offer from Limebar plus coffee from Dirtopia Café. Other than the riding (& trail run routes) the camping is another great aspect of this fun & social weekend.
