The Isuzu Trucks PE PLETT, a 4 day MTB adventure between Plettenberg Bay and Port Elizabeth has always attracted those hard core mountain bikers looking for a challenge…. That’s the reason it is branded as “The Tough One”
Moving into its 4th year, it was time to add a new dimension and the organisers have created a Race within a Race called the PE PLETT LITE. This is now a very attractive offering for those Sani2C and Wine2Whales type riders who want the challenge but not necessarily the pain.
It was an easy thing to do says Route Director Mike Glover and that was to start outside Plett at the beautiful Kurland and end outside PE at Crossways Village thus reducing the distance between our race villages.
The LITE distance will average out at 60Km per day on a combination of single, jeep and district roads whilst the Tough One riders can be exposed to a more diverse offering as we take them into the mountains of Baviaans, Suuranys and Tsitsikamma.
The LITE also offers Solo and Team and is a great way to rub shoulders with the pros and share our stunning race villages of Tsitsikamma Adventure Village, Soloko Game Reserve near Kareedouw and Suurbron Bike park outside Hankey .
