The late Alan van Heerden - 1979 Giro d'Italia 7th stage 1st place.

Robert Hunter - 2007 TDF 11th stage 1st place. (2nd place overall Green Jersey)

Chris Froome - No need to list them ! Rode for UK, but he actually belongs to us.

What a boytjie. Watched him crush the opposition up Tom Jenkins in the SA champs and then when he bolted across the gap to the two leaders up that last climb yesterday it reminded me so much of that. Was awesome to see him hold onto the lead and finish in style.

I think there was a dust storm that came through my lounge shortly after he crossed the line and some got into my eyes.

He worked hard for that one and the initial break had quite a few potential stage winners in it.
