Yolandi du Toit and Ben Melt Swanepoel of Team Garmin MTB will be there to race in their professional capacity and the Garmin users will have the opportunity to meet their favourite professional cyclists.

Garmin resonates well within the cycling community. The Garmin MTB Classic was brought about to ensure we give back to our loyal customers and to showcase the Garmin connected bike concept. It is a great opportunity to present the wide range of Garmin cycling computers. The Garmin Varia is the world’s first cycling radar that warns cyclists of vehicles approaching from behind and wirelessly integrates with compatible Garmin Edge cycling computers, Varia lighting solutions, Vector Dual-sensing pedal-based power meters, action cameras and all other Garmin manufactured products that are an essential part of our customers’ lives.

Within the cycling market Garmin is known for partnerships with teams such as Team Dimension Data for Qhubeka, and Cape Town Cycle Tour. By introducing our very own Garmin Mountain Biking race, our vision is to ensure that the Garmin brand reinforces our position within this ever-growing sport.

All cyclists, whether professional or amateur are welcome to join the Garmin team on the day to compete or race for fun. Garmin have provided for various race distances for families and professional riders to compete together. There are three distances to choose from depending on your level of fitness. Garmin has made sure to cater for all riders from all age groups, juniors through to masters for both male and female riders. Riders can choose between: 55km, 30km and 10km.

There will be prize money awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for both male and female riders in the senior (age 19 – 29) category, with amazing Garmin products gift bags up for grabs across the rest of the categories.

The course and selected distances were designed to be enjoyable, inspirational and challenging for beginning, intermediate and professional racers. Young and old, singles and families are encouraged to join.
