mrmed Posted November 11, 2007 Share We went out to Breetsnek (???) today for a training ride (supposed to be a rest week) and I must say I was a little dissappointed. I'm not saying it didn't hurt because it did, especially my butt, but I was expecting 2000m+ of climbing but we only did 970m in 60km. The one side is 244m in 4.5km and the other 345m in 4.1km. Did we miss something? We thought about riding up "the monster" but some people told us that the local farmer enjoys shooting a MTB'ers on his land! Is there somewhere else (LOCAL!!!!!) with longer climbs? If not, we'll have to do these 2 a couple of times to get the climbing training in. mrmed2007-11-11 10:50:

Thug Posted November 12, 2007 Share There isn't really too much else that I know about. If you're training for the Epic, a suggestion would be to ride bothsides of the pass twice or even three times to get the required ascent.
Tumbleweed Posted November 12, 2007 Share maybe try sugar bush. it's tar, but there's loads of climbing.
