flex Posted March 8, 2011 Share I'm also entered for this, anyone else? Judging by the website, not many people have (less than 40 competitors listed for the Olympic distance as at this morning). I also read an alarming article in the Times yesterday about the state of the Vaal water, I sure do hope that TSA tests the water before Sunday... Garfield2010 Posted March 8, 2011 Share They should test it now. I hate it to arrive and then it is made a duathlon. Tell us in advance please.
flex Posted March 8, 2011 Share I emailed the race organisers, they have sent me the lab results for the vaal, which I will post shortly. Seems like the water is okay, particularly in the part of the river where we'll be swimming.

flex Posted March 9, 2011 Share Jeepers, I think its safe to say not many people doing this one. That heightens my chance of coming last in the swim
Face Plant Posted March 9, 2011 Share im sure there will be alot more entries on the day! will see you guys there, by the way, the water quality hasnt been this good in a long time! i did the sasolcross there last weekend and the water was perfect
flex Posted March 13, 2011 Share Awesome event today, I found it tough as nails. Had a *** swim, even worse than anticipated, but a great ride in my new TT bike and a reasonably good run. If I could just swim better
Face Plant Posted March 13, 2011 Share have to agree Flex it was a great event! the swim was tuff on the way back the current played a big part i think!! but is was a brilliant race! lets hope there are bigger numbers at the next race! i think its going to be hard for the organisers to keep the race going without the numbers! and we REALLY need a decent triathlon series. other than the Energade series there arent many races to keep us race fit
flex Posted March 13, 2011 Share Couldn't agree more, Face Plant. BTW, any idea where we can see the race photos? I posed nicely for one on the bike leg, tried to look like I wasn't hurting
