Matt Posted January 10, 2013 Share Hi Hubbers,I know it will have been a most frustrating day for many of you either not being able to log on at all or suffering a deathly slow Hub.My apologies for any and all inconveniences today. It's been a day of excessive hair loss and probably the addition of few grey hairs on my part. Here's a little breakdown of what happened:- We had some server trouble in the very early hours of this morning which resulted in a few display issues. The latest posts block and classified navigation elements were not displaying as many of you were aware of.- This issue was resolved at around 09h30 this morning and everything was back to normal for a short while.- At around 10h00 I started noticing very slow loads, page time outs and servers reported down.- Upon investigation, it appeared that the issues experienced earlier were behind the slowness.Various routine processes were followed to resolve the issues and restart The Hub with little success.- To cut a long story short from here on there was a lot of back and forth between the hosting engineers and myself trying to identify the root of the problem. There were a number of variables which could have caused the issues and unfortunately it was down to a process of elimination which took most of the afternoon.- It turned out to be an infrastructural issue which as of 17h30 has been resolved and we are back up to speed.Once again my apologies to all who shared in the frustration and inconvenience today.I will be discussing options to improve reliability with our hosts to ensure we don't have to suffer such extended downtime in future. Thanks for your patience and understanding.Sincerely,Matt EagarFounder - The Hub SA Dubber88
