Chinese Carbon Thread

So.... finally i have the time to start this.

There's been many of talk about is it actually worth it, are they any good, what the difference and all the bleh bleh. OK so I'll start by saying this, i take absolutely nothing away from all the known name brands, manufacturers, local bike stores, importer locally and abroad not to mention any as there are many here in SA alone. My main motive behind going the Chinese carbon route was purely based on i do not have a lump sum of cash to splash on buying bikes complete all my bikes to date were either under 3k or i built up over a period of about 6-12months. Another reason being i was always one for the plain sort of clean look, and a blank carbon frame gave me just that. Before i pulled the trigger on my frames, i first did a lot of reading rbr and mtbr being the main source of my information, links to follow. and from what i read i knew that the product these guys offer seems to be legit, and in most cases you get more than what you pay for. So right that's all the nity grity out the way here's what i got/built/ordered.

My current frames i ride, FM098(ROAD) and FM056(29er MTB)

NB! I'm not here to push anybody/namebrand down simply just to give information to the many a pm's i've received, and not only pm's i'm in the process of building up another 2 29ers from people who simply just loved what they saw in mine. SO IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANYTHING GOOD OR USEFUL TO ADD THEN DON'T.....

PROCESS:

My road bike was ordered through a place called Deng-Fu(http://dengfubikes.com), person i dealt with there was Tony. We were sort of the first group buy on these frames on a site http://www.velobuild.com . The group buy consisted of 10-15 members and we paid around $480 per frame, included paint(S-Works Venge in Green Style). I ordered 3 of them, 2 BSA and 1 BB30. 1 for me, as well as 2x50mm carbon clinchers, 2 Carbon Handlebars and 50 bottle cages, 1 for my brother @babse, and a close friend @yazzo. @yazzo went a step further on he's frame more details here. http://www.velobuild...n-non-di2-frame

Mine and @babse here. http://www.velobuild...098-green-matte

My mtb is a FM056(29er) bought frame a place called Hong-Fu, person i dealt with was Jenny. I had to wait a bit for my frame, as i wanted it UD Matte, i'm full of ****.

For @babse i ordered him a FR213 from a place called flyxii person dealt with was Amy. He's finish is UD gloss.
