New feature: Filter Active Forums

Hi Hubbers,

 

We've introduced a small, but useful feature to the forum section. It has been requested many many times and now finally added.

 

You can now choose which forums show up in the Latest Posts and What's New (Active Topics) areas.

 

Topics from any forum you add to the filter will not appear in these views. All forums and topics are still available by going directly to that specific forum.

 

 

To set the forum filter:

 

1) Head over to the "My Settings" page

2) Select the "Forum Filters" tab

3) Select forums you would like to hide (you can select multiple forums via holding down Ctrl or cmd and clicking on each forum)

4) Hit the "Block forums" button

 

You can also access the "Forum Filters" tab by clicking on the direct link from the Latest Posts window or on the What's New / Active topics page:

Does this feature explain why I cannot see NCR posts in the "Latest Forum Posts"?

can you give us the option to display all topics in the active topics window (including chit-chat threads). you can still make the default "no" for chit chat threads but at least give us the option to change it for ourselves if we so wishes.

 

Pretty please with a off-topic cherry on top?

I guess it keeps the Hub more cycling-related as many posters probably only respond to the "Latest Forum Posts" window, where you wont see any posts on religion or the current state of political affairs or rugby or anything NCR (not unless you post in "Rant n Rave", in which instance your topic will probably be moderated to "Off Topic" buckets).

That is cool as a default setting, but we should be allowed to modify the filter to include NCR if we want to

I might be mistaken, but I think this has been done by design rather than by default to bring more of a cycling balance back to the Hub. And I would add rightfully so, although I do miss the NCR posts in the "Latest Forum" window.
