Spidermonkey Posted October 28, 2013 Share Carrying a change of clothes with me on the bike gets a bit much sometimes, but the alternative is arriving at the office in slightly sweaty work clothes. I'd like to hear your thoughts on dressing for the journey vs dressing for the destination!

mudda Posted October 28, 2013 Share if work is under 2km away, and you coast there on a downhill, excellent idea. However, Your co-workers may not appreciate your Chris Froom efforts if you ride hills. What about packing for clothes for the week, and leaving that at work ? bj horn

Bateleur1 Posted October 28, 2013 Share No way!! I will be soaking wet when I get to work. Really carrying some clothes is not that much of a problem. Leave a belt and a pair of shoes at the office. The you only have to worry about underwear, socks, trousers and shirt. Really not that much. ichops, JTS and Ecko_1

RocknRolla Posted October 29, 2013 Share Had to commute to work last week friday, we do not have a shower at work. I carried a change of clothes, and had a wet wipe shower at the office. The commute was around 20kms one way with some elevation gain. Even when trying to take it easy, I managed to get to the office soaking wet.
divernick Posted October 29, 2013 Share Even if you can't shower at work, carry clean clothes. Make sure you shower before leaving home and use a good anti-perspirant deo. Wipe-down, dry-off at work and put on the fresh clothes before hitting the office. ichops and Skylark

I've commuted in work clothes several times, and it's not actually that bad. Granted, I leave early and only do about 10km to work. The great part is not having to mess around with a change of clothes and find a place to hang up the riding gear. I also tried to cycle at 'no-sweat speed' when possible!
