At Last, Well done Epic Organisers

Kudos to the Epic organisers for at last recognising that the rider's support teams are integral to the race and not a reserve for the big name corporates.

The facilities, for the first time, were great with electricity, water and plenty of toilets and showers. It was great to at last feel as an accepted part of the event and not just a bunch of hillbillies. The supporters village was a hive of productivity and we managed to do what we were there for - Rider Support.

Crickets seem to be a Western Cape problem this summer.

Kudos to the Epic organisers as well. First time in a long time I bothered to follow the event. Save for a few hiccups it lived up to the standard and the racing was pretty good this year too.

Those Kriekets drived me insane...they were there day n night at 3 race villages.

I love the sound of crickets at night. Like bullfrogs. If they're there, it just reminds me that you're in nature's playground. They have the same effect on me as the sound of crashing waves on a beach resort or running water in a river. Calming as feck. Reminds me of camping in the berg, midmar dam and so on. A reminder that all is right int he world at that specific point in time...

The sound is ok, but 50 crickets on the dinner table is not so good during dinner.... damn things were EVERYWHERE... never seen so many in one place...
