Mojoman Posted April 22, 2014 Share What hubs are they? I have been reading that the M775's have an issue with this, I am waiting my turn for this issue... On my M475 hubs I have gone through about 4 or 5 freewheel hubs over the years!

droo Posted April 22, 2014 Share Skip leg day at the gym... TBH, I've never seen that happen - my guess is that it was a defective unit. Fortunately they're easy to replace and not that pricey, so fit a new one and see how you go. Big Wheel Cycles, rouxtjie and Vangar

kennyg Posted April 22, 2014 Share A quick immediate fracture, either a faulty unit or a seriously over tight cassette lock ring.
Cycho Posted April 22, 2014 Share What bike / wheel was that off? Seen 2 of the same hub do that recently! - Alleged theory is that it is old OEM stock that was not designed to withstand the larger forces of bigger wheels (But in my opinion just rubbish to cover themselves cos they messed up in QC) Tiny K
Mojoman Posted April 22, 2014 Share Are the wheels new? I would push for a warrantly claim, it looks like various XT units seem to have a problems. http://forums.mtbr.com/wheels-tires/shimano-xt-m775-wheelset-freehub-fails-465660-4.html

Cassie Posted April 23, 2014 Share Same happened to me! (a while back, though) i took picks of the cracked hub - still posted here on the Hub......mine lasted longer than yours...but still... Seems to be a XT issue... Soufflé
Gandalf Posted April 24, 2014 Share haaibo. I read this thread the other day. Yesterday while riding home my cassette came loose. Today I took a closer look.. See the crack through the middle and a piece missing from the side. So now I am off to find a new one. Can I fit a hope freebody onto a shimano hub? Are they compatible with one another or do yo have to replace with a shimano freebody?
Vinnydabutcher Posted April 24, 2014 Share Hope Pro 2 make a stainless steel freehub. That`s all Im saying.
