I did NOT realise that these were from the lab of Victor Momsen. From this article

The Muna brand was developed after I became disillusioned with the children’s bicycles available in the market.

I found the majority of these bikes to be mere toys and not really rider friendly. I developed a good-quality balance bike, which allows children to progress to a real bike with or without side-wheels much quicker than if they used toy tricycles.

We also developed ordinary pedal bikes aimed at children aged four to around 10. The brake sets, wheels and other specs are much better than those of some of the other bikes on the market; something that parents who cycle really appreciate.

We also have a range of very high-end juvenile models in the Momsen range. We invest a lot into these bikes, because we believe we are raising a future generation of Momsen riders.

We have gone through two so far.

HBomb on his 12" Muna "monster truck" balance bike.

this has since been gone to a friend.

There was a time when both kids 22 months apart were on 12" balance bikes. My son is a bit more adventurous so ended up encouraging his older sister to get going.

then came pedal bikes, and FayeFaye got a 16" sparkle off gumtree and HBomb a brand new 14" avalanche as these were harder to find.

before the custom refit

and on the open road

as things moved on, HBomb could fit on his sister's bike, and when she moved up to a 20" her 16" became available

but if you get a new bike, even if it's not out the box it needs some character, so Bosblitz was born in the garage

and it rides pretty well, even if it is darn blerrie heavy for a little guy!

we just moved my daughters Muna to a little girl who is going to enjoy it.

bought my daughter a signal. Muna really moved the kids bike market to a higher level.

My son bought this rather sad looking Muna balance bike for my 2yr old granddaughter for a couple of bucks

Clearly it needed to get some TLC and special treatment for a special little girl that's very precious to her grandad!

Bought a few odds and ends, stripped it and sent the frame to my mate Big Thys. Serviced everything, sanded the spokes and hubs, seatpost and stem. A quick coat of rattle can. This is the final result ...

They fetched it this evening, the look on her face ... Worth the effort that's for sure ????
