I'm confused

Spare tube, bomb (2 is not a bad idea) and inflator thingy, tyre levers, multi tool, jelly babies or winegums, pvm bar/jungle oats bar and enough water, oh and game or some other energy drink is advisable to replace electrolytes. That's what I carry. Of course a lot of folks consider 60kms to be a short ride and thus will probably ditch the food, but everyone has a different definition of a long ride.

Bicycle, water bottle, spare tube, pump, multitool, tyre levers, cellphone, wallet. Really, there's not more you could possible need, that I can think of.

Medical aid card above anything else goes first into the saddle bagbag along with

A spare tube, few glue less patches (this is so that I don't have to give a tube away everytime I help someone out), levers, bomb with adaptor

cycling top pocket: cellphone, some change (R50), banana and either small packet trail mix/ sunrise mix or droe wors

on a 60km road ride I only use water

Good point about the Medical Aid card, that is one thing I forget because my wallet is always on the heavy side (must be all that plastic)

Must say I haven't had much luck with glueless patches, I pack a small puncture kit but you have to make sure the glue hasn't dried up. I also pack a few large cable ties, small roll of duct tape and a space blanket if am doing the forest / mountain ride. And always a first aid kit, with some decent anti-bacterial cream in case you cut yourself, or some other accident you chance upon. One bad infection is one too many. And some decent painkillers.

interesting that you guys take wallets along.

Would it not be better to have a few ronds for a tea break along the way, and a few bob to pay someone to use their cell of make a landline call from a  shop in the event of serious disaster.

I also keep my medical details on a laminated card, and of course there is the ICE ID bracelet.

Hard to do a 60km ride without that

60km... you're going to need some PMC to get through that.

I'll pack some PMC for you if you do 60km with me tomorrow....

Hi cycle world, I am not to sure what to pack to eat drink and equipment for a 60km ride, any suggestions, just the essentials

For me it depends how long that 60km will take you.

Some 60km's can take me 2h15min and for that I just take 1L water.

I usually don't carry any tools or tubes or anything like that with me on my usualy rides, if it is unknown terrain I will take a tube and a co2 bomb or 2 with its adaptor and a multitool. I have an ICEID permanetly on my arm. I also carry my phone with me.

For the 60km's that take me about 5hours (like the Baviaans challenge with 2800m accent), I will take 3Lwater, a banana, and a sandwich.
