Garmin Fenix 3

Anyone got an idea on when the Garmin Fenix 3 will become available?

Also wondering about price, I know it won't be cheap (estimates have it at around R600 more than the 920XT).

Looks like a pretty amazing bit of kit though.

Whether it's worth the price tag or not, i'm not sure.

Would like to see one in the flesh first, before I make that call.

I have a fenix and the other half has a fenix2. Both are awesome devices ... and due to JoBerg2C, we're learning more about them every day. Going by the history, the Fenix3 should be impressive.

Saw a Fenix 3 yesterday...

Blimey, quite an ingenious bit of equipment...

Gorgeous.

And the nice part is it kinda blends in with work apparel. The 920XT didn't quite tick that box.

Got my Sapphire from Clever Training a week or two ago. What a lekker unit. Been sick tho, so haven't had any chance to use it yet  :(  :(  :(

Another win is that with the Discovery Healthy gear Card at Sportmans, I got it for just over 6k, where the normal selling price is R8450

Is it quite a big watch? Would it be ok as an all day, every day watch?

I'm using it as an everyday watch, but that said, I prefer oversized watches. (My other everyday watches are a G-Shock and a TW Steel).

I just think the 920XT is too sports looking and a tad too big. The Fenix at least looks a bit more "business".

That's what I like about the look of it, it's got a nice clean look when in watch mode, especially the sapphire with the metal strap. Will go check it out at Sportsmans later. Would you mind measuring the face please? I cant get dimensions for it.

Last question, what does the performer bundle come with? Do you have to buy the heart rate strap and speed/cadence sensors separately?

Hi Stevie,

Is that the red and silver version?

I wonder when the grey / sapphire will become available locally?

Correct, I bought the red and silver. Not sure when the sapphire is being released. Haven't seen it in stores yet...

I have the silver and red strap fenix 3 and it's awesome....But I'm now toying with idea of selling it and getting the Apple watch.

Why? Don't do that. The 2 are not nearly comparable
