TokaiMTB Posted March 5, 2015 Share Riders note: Most of the Tokai plantation has been burnt and the threat of fires flaring up again is still a strong possibility. Please avoid riding in Tokai. There is a big danger with regards to falling trees throughout the plantation so it is advised to not enter, even more so in wind. Emergency crews are in the area, assessing the damage and rescuing wildlife etc so let us let them do their job. The planned build day this Saturday is postponed until further notice Captain Fastbastard Mayhem, Hairy, Bloukrans and 5 others

I hate to think what the area around our caves looks likeAll those wonderful yellowood trees, walkways etc apart from the fynbos Echo Valley and Spes Bona must be devastated.I would not go into the caves for a while. All the snakes etc would have taken refuge there Raydek and Hairy

marko35s Posted March 5, 2015 Share It's worth pointing out that the firefighters have a lot on their plate at the moment and having to argue with riders that are determined to ride around Tokai right now does not help their cause. And yes it has happened and they have mentioned it. deanbean Posted March 5, 2015 Share Careful in there under those gums, they aren't called widow-makers in Aus for nothing. They will shed their branches if they have been burnt, and I have seen some big branches been shed. Hairy, tanyad and Eddy Gordo
