bertusras Posted May 27, 2015 Share Hey guys and girls! My colleague has some family coming from Europe at the end of July and would like to take them mountain biking somewhere with animals (Groenkloof/Rietvlei/Somewhere else) and he's asked me if I know where he can rent bikes. I have no clue. A quick google revealed that Groenkloof had rentals at some point, does anyone know if that's still going?
Rick Sanchez Posted May 27, 2015 Share I know Big Red Barn has rentals on weekends, but there aren't any animals...Think Groenkloof does rentals, I believe they are in partnership with Specialized, but have no idea if that is still going on. Belgarath Posted May 27, 2015 Share Stuff at Groenkloof not going very well at the moment... First time I cycled there, there were a few bikes hanging around, not the last time I was there though. BRB has better bikes for rent than what I own, although it's a fun house, not a Sunday afternoon bike safari. Not being very helpful, am I? Sorry... Squier Posted May 28, 2015 Share Have a look here: http://www.bikelife.co.za/bicycle-rentals/ Best spot on the Gauteng list is undoubtedly Heia. Awesome trails and lots of game (Giraffe, Wildebeest, Springbok, etc.) that you are guaranteed to see. Really a great spot!

Don't go to Groenkloof! But they want to have the 'African Experience'... Getting mugged at Groenkloof will be a proper African Experience though, not that I want that to happen, sigh. Rosemary Hill also has bikes to rent .... Boschkop area. Nice routes! That was actually my first response to him Rosemary Hill is great, but as above, they want to see animals (technically pigs and cows are animals, though). I don't see anything about Heia regarding rentals on their website, but I'll drop them a line!
T_Boss Posted October 18, 2020 Share Reserecting an old thread here, but what options are currently available for bike rentals in Pretoria? I need to rent a bike for a client that will be using it this week at a few two seperare events, both are night rides, so the rent to ride at the bike park thing won’t work. PieterJvR Posted October 19, 2020 Share Bump - Any idea where one can rent relatively decent bikes for a few days in pretoria? A friend mentioned a while ago that Bruce Reyneke in Shere does rentals, not sure if they still do or what their terms and conditions are, but worth a try T_Boss
