Reviving an old thread here.

Stripped out mate's stuck down M7000 SLX lever last night and found that the piston/plunger head is mushroomed. And seems that my M785 XTs isn't far from reaching that point also.

Found these kits on Ali Xpress. Works out to about R190 with shipping if anyone want to attempt to rebuild/revive their lever.

Lead time sux a bit, but will provide feedback on these and the rebuild process if and when they arrive one day

BTW, if I was to say stuff it all and want to buy Hope brakes, which model would you suggest?

For you, race lever, X2 caliper. More than enough power and it's a slightly smaller package.

EDIT: Yes, I know it's like 8 months later and all.

according to the comment listed in the product reviews, there are people that used these successfully rebuilt their XTR's with these

The feeling on your lever is not the piston getting stuck but rather the lever losing bite, i think the plausible explanation is the bore of the cylinder is phucked. This could be caused by bad maintenance and weight savings in the xtr lever

Been running those in my Guides.

Work well. Busy reviving another set of guides now, but the internal circlip pliers i order was damaged and CCS don't seem to list them on their site. Time for the dremel

Lever biting, but then getting closer to the bar under pressure?

More likely a worn or damaged seal than lever bore.

Strip and check if you've got a bit of time off the bike.

Hi, I'm encountering the same issue on my m785 fron lever is more affected then the rear one.

Can someone please tell me the material of the piston inside the master cylinder?  is it from plastic/composite or metal?

I'm asking this because on aliexpress i can see that the same seller is selling aprons(rubber o-rings) separately and he is also selling a metal piston together with the o-rings.

And don't know which version is better to buy.

Apparently , if the original piston is from plastic, it seems a better idea to buy the whole metal piston, but don't know how will this impact the entire system.

Let me know you're thoughts.

It's plastic

I ordered titanium pistons I'm going to fit on my guides.
