Fake Ritchey bars are rubbish

Edition 507

Recommended Posts

Check this out, one little fall and the handlebar snaps like a twig!

Anyone else had bad experiences with Ritchey carbon products?

"Little fall" is relative.

I also had a little fall and wrote off a Tarmac SL4 (which also cracked/snapped etc)... not too mention writing myself off.

I would be interested to know if it is a genuine Ritchey or a chinese fake ? Please get it checked out by agents.

There are so many imitations around.I was caught buying a Dida on the Hub.

Hope you are ok.

Looks like the area where a grip lock ring, brake or shifter could possible have been tightened too much damaging and weakening the bar...

It looks like it snapped where it was clamped by the brake or shifter.

beat me to it!

carbon does that under stress unfortunately

Of course, but it seems like certain manufacturers carbon snaps much easier under very little stress.

Have had with seat post but suspect it was damaged by frame edges digging into it at seat tube clamp.  Gone back to ALU !!  Those few grams don't make that much difference !!
