M Hickley Posted December 15, 2016 Share On the road you can do Clarence drive to Gordonsbay or Karwyderskraal loop. On mtb kogelberg nature reserve or up Highlands, there's many tracks there.

Mohs Posted December 3, 2019 Share Looking for route info and people to ride with road and mtb in Betty's Bay...You can ride inside the Kogelberg Nature reserve. The route follows the Palmiet river and can take you all the way to Grabouw... 17km up...and 17km down...jeep track 99%.Permit at the gate near eco-village. It about 3km from Tar road to gate.https://www.capenature.co.za/reserves/kogelberg-nature-reserve/If you really want to get in some distance, you follow the road up along the Palmiet river and then at the top traverse towards Highlands and Iona wine-farm, then back down to Arabella Golf course...tar road back. Besides that best is to go to Hermanus and the Hemel and aarde trails, Most roads in Betties are Gravel, so ja....play paper delivery boy is most fun you will have. Will definitely be riding Kogelberg again (and maybe even take the family there for a night). So beautiful. Didn't know about the option to ride across from there to Arabella - will look at that. Thanks!

I'm a member of the club and we would appreciate it if people would get there day permits at Sasol. Rouge ride will cause landowners to deny us further access to their land. ridr Posted December 3, 2019 Share Where is the Sasol to buy permits? And what do the permits give access too? Does it allow you to ride the section noted from the gate at top of Kogelberg route to Arabella? Or am I not allowed to go around that gate? I remember the big gate at the top of the rock pools hike just outside Gordon's Bay. I'm sure gates are in place for a reason. I haven't been further than the river crossing on the Kogelberg trail - usually run out of time and I didn't realise the path goes further. Edit: pressed 'post' before I finished typing! M Hickley Posted December 3, 2019 Share The Sasol service station in Kleinmond. There are two well marked routes with tracks build by the members themselves. All the information and conditions is available at Sasol ridr, PhilipV and potsandpedals

And then call for a lift home when you're ready to turn around... (can you get an Uber out there? )
