Hi.  Al online shoppers.

Before I take the plunge, and  later regret it.

(But i can not find the part anywhere else.)

Anyone had any recent experience ordering from JensonUSA?

Good or Bad?

Used PayPal or Visa?

They estimate delivery 1-st week in February . . that sounds a bit optimistic?

Any info would be greatly appropriated.

Thanks.

What do you want to purchase?

I would recommend looking at CrC, Evans Cycles, Wiggle and Bike24 first.

(As they come from Europe)

great service. Can't rmember which delivery options on offer to ZA, but if USPS, then it can take a bit long just to get out of the USA. I used Visa when last I bought, which was quite some time back. As 'Cav suggested, likely you will the same thing from euroland.

But i have to admit, once in a while, the newfangledsweething only appears in the US market initially.

I normally "buy form Europe"

But believe me, this "USA brand specific old school fork" have been unobtainium for about 2-years now.

Bike24  list them, but no stock.

CRC, Wiggle, Evans. . . .  nothing.

Jenson also did not have  them for ages, till now.

Last time I bought from Jenson USA they used DHL Express, took around three working days to arrive at my door, so the first week in Feb is doable.

Email them and find out how they intend shipping to SA.

If the are using DHL Express get in contact with them as soon as you have the waybill number so that they can sort out the import paperwork beforehand and you can pay the VAT and fee to expedite delivery.

My sister is in the US&A,so I ordered an item from Jenson's and had it sent to the hotel in LA (I paid by Visa card).

They said 3 days for delivery, but it arrived the next day!

(She is yet to arrive at the hotel, so hoping they keep it...)

I used them a few times. They are awesome. They make use of UPS. When you least expect it, they will be standing infront of you with your parcel.

How much will duties and taxes be on a part. Is it really worth going through all the trouble of buying from them instead of local?

So I logged in this  morning . ..

And there is only  one of the Unobtainium left!!

So  to quote Myles Mayhew, I did the "Swiiiipe"

So let's hope their stock file was correct, that there was one left, and I don't go on to back-order or something.

I'll report back as things go.

Update as Promised.

Online purchase with JensonUSA went good.

I swiped the card and received a prompt reply that my order is being processed.

Then  I received a mail a day later stating that my order is on hold and I must call them.

( I MUST call them, no emailing)  I was a bit upset.

So I get my brother in BC to phone them as they are on Pacific Standard Time.

Turn out, because it is the 1st time I buy from them, being from the Dark Continent, and having used my card directly, they want a six digit  authorisation code form my bank to make sure I don't pull an Nigerian (not their exact words) on them and  cancel the transaction after they have shipped it.

In future transactions this will not be needed as then they know me and my card are legit.

So I mail my bank.

Bank reply and says it is the first they ever hear of such a code, neither they nor me  can  cancel the transaction and the money is already allocated to this merchant. Bank also says that next time  I must use PayPal

So I forward this response to my guy at JensonUSA.

He is cool  with the banks response and ships the goods with UPS

Order processed and ready 31/01/2017

Delivery this morning 10h11 08/02/2017.

Very happy.

Take note: Rather use Paypal account next time.

Hope this help some Hubbers to get some stuff.

The Unobtainium.

Update on this thread...

Also wanting unobtainium (also, coincidentally, Salsa  :)), I found it on JensonUSA.

My first purchase from these guys and I'll say their service is great. Easy to find stuff and info on said stuff on their site (local online shops PLEASE take note) and a good selection too.

Shipping wasn't cheap but it is UPS, 3-5 working days. So great.

But that is where my order came unstuck. It was shipped literally within hours of payment and I watched it travel rapidly round the world...

But then it got stuck in JHB apparently without a commercial invoice.

I found one later inside the box, presumably my copy, so no idea if there was one on the outside. There WAS a document pouch that had already been raided, beside the one containing the UPS and customs docs. So who knows...

The first problem was that UPS did nothing about it until I contacted them. Their service didn't get any better from there. Same thing at each step. I had to chase up every time.  Their tracking system is unclear, inaccurate and downright wrong.

Maybe it was my bad luck?

I'll have another chance to see UPS in action as I have an order due to be shipped from the UK soon

I took this up with JensonUSA, who also had difficulties getting a reaction from UPS ZA, and they have kindly and properly refunded my shipping fees.

Very happy with that.

PS. just don't import Cowchippers to ZA... I don't think customs likes them and maybe that is where the problems started

pity you had such a bad experience. I havent bought anything for a while via UPS tho. Their service has always been superb

What I've heard too, although there are complaints out there rather similar to mine... My bet is they may have hit overload (plus, customs?) and maybe the IT-human interface is not working too well.  (Just hope they don't have my name on a black-list or something!!)

I must emphasize once I got hold of a human at JensonUSA they did everything to help. No problems their side at all. Top-class service.
