Shebeen Posted February 9, 2017 Share The 'Daywalker' needs his own damn thread. Come along way from the stand up circuit, to being CellC 'CEO' and now filled massive shoes at the Daily Show. So proud of this boytjie, who seems more than happy to sprinkle a lit bit of flava into his show. With Trump doing what he does best, Trevor has got some serious paint to spread on his canvas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= viva Trevor, viva! Vetseun Posted February 9, 2017 Share I cant stand him. I used to be a big fan. His constant political message in everything irritates me.Also he is a guest in the USA. Pretty outspoken for somebody from the RSA.Anyway. Just my opinion. Vaalhaai, Ed-Zulu, Wil6 and 9 others
blondeonabike Posted February 9, 2017 Share I also don't like him. I don't like the way he portrays some South Africans, so the Americans can have a laugh at our expense. I'm all for having a laugh at myself, but it feels like he has just sold out. His political comments remind me of a kid trying too hard to be teachers pet. Odinson Posted February 9, 2017 Share OP, you are aware that The Daily Show has an army of writers, so it's disputable as to how much of his material (on TDS) is his own. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Daily_Show_writers#The_Daily_Show_with_Trevor_Noah_.282015.E2.80.93present.29 I enjoyed the hell out of 'Daywalker', but feel that he became a bit too preachy after that run. Shebeen Posted February 9, 2017 Share ok, so you don't like his show. How about his book? I haven't read it, don't get round to reading long form books much these days, but by all accounts has been quite successful.https://www.amazon.com/Born-Crime-Stories-African-Childhood/dp/0399588175/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486642357&sr=8-1&keywords=born+a+crime4.8 Stars is a damn high amazon rating https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/nov/25/born-a-crime-trevor-noah-south-africa-townships-daily-show #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The compelling, inspiring, and comically sublime story of one man’s coming-of-age, set during the twilight of apartheid and the tumultuous days of freedom that followed not doing too badly

It's not a political show. It's comedy. In the same way that Last Week Tonight is comedy and not (investigative) journalism. I don't expect him to have a very long run on the show. TDS is barely beating out Last Call with Carson Daly. That's saying something.

popcorn_skollie Posted February 9, 2017 Share I enjoy the show and watch it regularly. But his attempt at cementing himself as an opinionated left view in America's ridiculous polarized politics leaves a funny taste in my mouth. I don't dislike him or the show. I share many of his views and enjoy the jabs he takes at politicians. But... I just don't think its where he should be or what he should be talking about. We could do with that kind of political satire in our own media. At least on the level he's at in the states. I guess what I'm trying to say is. We could do with 'The Daily Show' on home soil. dev null Posted February 9, 2017 Share I don't like him. Never did. Tries too hard sometimes to portray himself a victim of apartheid. There were local comedians that had a much harder life under apartheid, yet they do not keep beating the same drum, but rather look for fresh material that finds acceptance from today's SA audience. Somebody better let him know he is not Mandela's love child. There, now that that monkey is off my back, I better get my jacket and head for the door. Mudsimus Posted February 9, 2017 Share People always hate on the successful ones. I think he really couldn't care less who likes him or not. He made close to 50 bar just from his dvds and shows up untill 2016, pretty bloody impressive. gogo@ and Mr Winter
