I will be attempting my very first vets appearance. It's gonna be a lonely ride!

Edit: Hopefully I won't fall like last year. I hear the racing is more "mature" in vets  :whistling: .

Probably (correct me if I'm wrong) the fastest race on the Gauteng calendar.

Still in two minds as to whether I want to do this one.. seeding is taking a beating, 947 seeding was a lot weaker than anticipated (damn you Daryl!)

I think so too... One that comes up very close is Gerald's race...

Any race will help with seeding, and you might get lucky since this is the first one this season... Maybe guys aren't that fit and you might get a bump up the ladder.

Dream on.  All the top vets are in shape for the upcoming provincial and national champs.

Haha, true! Given that, I think I should just race open on this one and try vets on another flatish one.

No man, race vets. It's one of the easier races to get into vets racing. Rather start with a flatter ride as opposed to the hilly rides, especially if your climbing is not up to scratch.

Vets for this race is a much better idea. Two years ago the A batch remained as a massive group to the end, and Racetec could not record all the finishers.  I had to send garmin file to get a result.

Large group in vets (usually smaller than alphabet soup) is much better than large group in alphabet soup.

Vets tend to have better skills, but the racing is hard, but fun.

First race as a non-member of CyclingSA for me.

I have less years racing left, so cave in to the pressure to register and race again... against me also wanting to teach them a lesson...
