Hi Guys,

our first frame model - the FARR OUT - is available NOW for pre-order.

these are Double Butted Cromo ( yes, Steel for the purists ) Gravel Frames with updated "Gravel-specific" geometry ( ie. NOT A CX Bike made to look like a GRAVEL BIKE! ) and feature a host of modern frame standards enabling a versatile and fun bike:

- 142 x 12 Rear Thru-Axle

- 100 x 15 Front Thru-Axle

- Taller Headtube for All-Day Comfort

- Multiple Bottle Cage Bosses

- Wheel Clearance for 700 x 28 to 45c Tyres ( also fits 650 x 50 tyres )

- Lowered Bottom Bracket for Stability with Longer Rear Centre

- Internal Tapered Headtube

- Rear FlatMount

- Front PostMount ( can also run FlatMount with Adaptor )

First frames should be shipping next week ( for those that Pre-Order ) and we can't wait to see some of these on SA Gravel Roads real soon!!!!

Unfortunately the pics we have been suppled are NOT GREAT - but give an idea of the overall look and visuals of the frame-kits. Once we get stock we will get some much better photos taken ...

If anyone would like to pre-order, we are offering the FRAME-KITS at a PRE-ORDER price of R 6995 ( normal price will be R 8500 ). These can be here in 2 weeks, if no pre-orders then the normal shipping time of 6 to 8 weeks will apply.

I have a preproduction model , with Lauf fork , Jones handlebars , 700 wheels , Brooks saddle and Eagle .

Did just over 300 kms this weekend on Karoo dirt roads in 3 days pulling my Bob trailer .

I can vouch for it being very comfortable .

Pity the painted frames will hide the exquisite welding .

tks for the positive feedback. We are working with one of the true artisan's in Taiwan when it comes to Cromoly and Steel frames - they are not fast when it comes to production ( hence the very long leadtime to get our first stock ) but their workmanship and attention to detail is really top notch!

Will the fork also be steel and what is the approximate weight of the frame and fork?

Hi,

yes, as per the pics, the fork is Cromo and has Taper Bladed and Butted Fork Legs -- really high-end Steel fork!

We will weigh the samples and add the info to the website - however, final production is painted so you will need to allow for some added weight due to paint and decals etc.

In terms of Cromo / Steel tubing these frames are high spec Taiwan Tubing --- so they will be competitive if you are talking Cromo - like for like! The ride quality of Cromo vs Alloy or Carbon is the real appeal - as opposed to the gram counting : )

Hi, that is a stunning looking bike. What is the final weight of that build?

tks Steve - will try and weigh it a bit later.

Being STEEL ( Chromoly ) Frame and Fork the purpose of this bike will be more about ALL DAY COMFORT and DURABILITY as opposed to LIGHTWEIGHT and AERO ( all the rage these days ... ) -- however, we do have some in the works for those who like their GRAVEL a bit more on the RACE SIDE ...

What tires are those? I can make out the word 'Farr Out' so are you looking at bringing these in?

They look perdy....

these are samples of what we will be getting later in the year ... it is the new FARR DOT --- a micro dot pattern with tread on the sides and a flatter dimpled center ridge for those PAVED sections ... 700 x 45C and Tubeless Ready.

Keep an eye on our social feeds for some pics of the final product.
