mecheng89 Posted March 19, 2019 Share So......... Who is doing this one? We are sending 2 teams, a "race" team and a more relaxed "social" team (who are by no means slow). What have those other teams training been like? Underachiever
Nibali Posted March 19, 2019 Share So bleak I can't ride this year, had an absolute blast last year. Those last 40 kays are simultaneously the most difficult and most beautiful moments I have had on a bike. Good luck to those taking on the challenge! fabs, mecheng89 and Pusher
Velouria Posted March 28, 2019 Share We're in. We have a core couple of people from our almost victorious DC Mixed team, consisting of a few Capetonians, and a few Joburgers. (The Capetonians are a little nervous about having to ride in the thin air!!) But, we've hit a snag. One of our ladies has pulled out with post-Epic complications and so we're now on the hunt for a fast lady. If anyone's keen or knows someone who is looking for a good fun day of hard bike racing, give us a shout! -Az-

Flemish Lion Posted March 28, 2019 Share I'll be around with the kids as I'm doing kid sitting duties... why did I ever get my wife into cycling and discovered her talent! When we first dated she joined me on a bus trip to CT for me to do the Argus... I suppose it's payback time... Good luck and safe riding everyone!! See you at the finish Edited March 28, 2019 by Flemish Lion Nibali, Patchelicious, mecheng89 and 1 other
Spirog Posted March 28, 2019 Share Cycle Lab have five teams coming from Fourways. We'll be the slow one, wearing mismatched Qhubeka socks. Wave as you go by... mecheng89

CharlesZ Posted April 3, 2019 Share So no Mens teams? They should fall under open team Nick. missing the race this year but hope that all will have a lot of fund and the racing will be proper especially in the mix cat as that is always a fun racing category. Do seems like 2 op podium teams of 2018 and 2017 will not be present as the riders opted for all men teams or all ladies teams. So opening it in the mix category Long Wheel Base

davevdm Posted April 9, 2019 Share WTF is the story with the 15min “time out” at the Support Zone in Kestell. The description leaves a lot open to assumptions . "There will be a 15min “time out” at the Support Zone in Kestell. The team’s clock will stop once the 6th rider of the team crosses the first timing mat at the support zone. The team’s time will start again as soon as the first rider of the team crosses the 2nd timing mat."The first rider must leave inside 15minsThe first rider is not allowed to leave inside the 15 minsThe 2 option leave a lot open and the description does allowed for both. You get 15 minutes time out once the 6th rider crosses the first mat. If the first rider hasn’t crossed the second mat before 15 minutes your time starts again. If he crosses after 5 minutes, then the timeout is only 5 minutes. Danger Dassie and mecheng89

So def better for the safety around it. As with last year it also gives the ladies more time to go for a nature break as there where no toilets for the ladies in the fast mix teams and they went behind cars with doors open and towels hold around them, us men are easy we just sling it out and do it.
