Pyga Stage and Stage MAX

Quick question.

Are these FRAMES actually different or is is just the fork and shock that makes them different

Stage has 100 - 120 Fork

and Shock 184 x 44

Max has 130 - 140 Fork

and Shock 190 x 51

If you could measure both would all the tubes be the same length ?

But they achieve different Geo but matching different shock and fork?

So in theory if you fitted a 190 x 51 shock on a Stage and a 130mm Fork you would have a stage MAX?

Have a look on Pyga's website for frame dimensions.

As far as I know there are small differences between Stage and Stage Max.

Won't be able to tell just from that. Hit them up on FB and ask Pat the q. He (or someone else) is likely to respond and let you know.

There's no structural difference between the Stage and Stage Max frames. In the past we have labelled them with different decals but moving forward the paint jobs will be the same. We run an offset bush on the Max which allows us to get the extra travel.

Good to know, so if someone has a Stage and want MAX or wants to buy MAX but can only find stage at good price you should be able to get the bush from Pyga and convert :-)

I'm currently doing this with Andrew at Stoke and realllyyyy looking forward to the result.

Fantastic, this little option might have just swayed me to the Payge. I can ride it at 120mm for now and then get a new shock and 140mm fork one day and ride more trail like stuff.

Good to know that there are other option on that frame. Maybe I will order the  offset bush with the frame :-)

the kind of versatility that makes you wonder why you'd ever need another bike

I have just moved to a Stage from years on Spez Camber and Stumpy. If you in JHB do yourself a favour and speak to Barry Crouse from Pyga, you won't have any doubts about a decision after that.

The versatility allows for you to build something "in between" got a MAX frame but built a "mini" Max. Don't think I could have set up this quality ride under any other label.

Do you have a Pyga?

Is the head angle not very steep at with 130 travel at the back?
