Ashchest Posted November 12, 2019 Share So I was in Israel for a few days until yesterday and my opinion of e-bikes have changed, especially with regard to personal transport and the use of e-bikes to commute. Tel Aviv is buzzing with e-bikes and it seems to have become the norm and best alternative for inner city transport as opposed to motor cars and scooters. The foldable versions seems to be even more popular because they can be taken on the trains for those who need to travel longer distances. Shebeen Posted December 16, 2019 Share I'm very pro ebikes, even though I don't own one I see them opening up or sport to many more cyclists That is however, not an ebike, not even close. The concept of mopeds are not that new, and it goes without saying that unfortunately that will need a licence. Too lazy to walk with their fishing gear so have decided it's fine to ride these on the beach. Seen them come close to taking out an unsuspecting beach goer on a couple occasions. ChrisF Posted February 8, 2020 Share https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub,2/Former-Trek-Executives-Open-Letter-to-Bike-Industry-About-E-Bikes,10793 VERY good read ! Friends bought two ebikes in Europe, early 2019. They were told that the drive is to limit the "motor power", rather than speed settings. As the speed settings can be over-ridden way too easily, leading the issues this gent refers to. Going to be interesting to see how this game plays out ....
