Anyone else saw Cooper riding one of these new Trek XC dual suspensions?

After the launch of the new top fuel this should be the new xc dual race bike

Wonder when the reveal will be....

This could be the perfect marathon bike for a lot of regions in SA if it has 50mm shock travel.

Mind explaining this? 50mm as apposed to? And what would you say the travel up front should be 100/120mm?

A lot of marathons run on district dirt roads, forestry roads, game/cattle paths and manicured singletrack. When I lived in GP, I rode a hardtail, and it was fast and awesome, but something to take the sting of the odd bit of roots or rocks would have been great. I still have it, but have added a 140mm trail bike for Stellenbosch area. But this Trek would also be great for the Grabouw and Hermanus trails.

No unfortunately I don't have more than what i got from a mate in the US.

Trek is bringing out a new XCO bike with 50-75mm rear wheel travel and 100mm up front sub 10kg with a Elite build and even lighter with a Pro build.Ttwo bottle cage mounts and its not like a conventional XCO bike, And to be launched around July. When they showed the top fuel it clearly wasn't unconventional. This new bikeBikeisLife posted more in line with the description I got.

Details we need to wait for but it looks very interesting.

I guess they're really trying hard to make a Great Trek again

Might as well just ride a HT with a dropper post. Probably handle the downs better than this thing. Remember that they are testing this in XCO which is more like enduro than marathon. ;-)

How will make a dropper post provide some respite on rough bits? Or improve traction?

Have you done an XCO race recently? Or in the last decade?
