Insane freak accident - Lorenzo Gobbo

This is actually quite unbelievable, Lorenzo Gobbo crashed on the track and was impaled by a piece of wood, he's okay, punctured lung, but ok.

That is an amazingly lucky escape - but his lung won't be the same again.

 

One wonders where that piece of wood came from - hope it's not just a poorly maintained track.

The guy in front of him fell and his pedal dug into the track and splintered off that piece of wood.

HNP wouldn't splinter if you hit it with a backactor. Safe and fun in the South.

Hector Norris Park (HNP) is a cycling track in the south of Joburg. It's an outdoor track and therefore is not wooden but rather made of concrete.

Christina Vogel is in a wheelchair because of  a track crash.
