Let's Ride Posted August 23, 2019 Share Hi Guys, Starting to become very very frustrated. I keep getting scam calls to my business landline. Everytime from a different number and often a different person but for the same scam. Becomes frustrating as they start off very nicely and slowly asking is this x person and how are you doing, that takes about 4 minutes because they talk so slowly. Then after a while I realise it's the same scam as they start talking about offshore investments into AMD as on 30 days time Microsoft is said to buy AMD. They don't allow me to say no even if I hang up they call back but from a different number. Everytime I try calling back the number is invalid so I can't track them. Anybody had the same experience? I tell them I have no money and they will still call me back. Tell them I am in debt review and still call me. Let's Ride Posted August 23, 2019 Share Tell them you have someone who may be interested and give them the number of someone you dislike! Shift the focus.....! Ah good idea, I'm fairly certain they will continue to call me though. I think they targeting businesses so they know you must have some sort of money available. Let's Ride Posted August 23, 2019 Share I mark on truecaller as scam but because they only use the number once it doesn't really make a difference.
Let's Ride Posted August 24, 2019 Share What's more interesting. How do you use a phone number once off? Which service provider does this?

Skylark Posted August 24, 2019 Share What's more interesting. How do you use a phone number once off? Which service provider does this?Plenty websites offer virtual lines, you can buy them once off or in bulk. I'm really sarcastic from the outset when I get these calls, I milk them for a few mins for laughs to see how stupid they are, then when I finally call them out they know I know and generally don't call back. ABrooks Posted August 24, 2019 Share I've started to tell them that they have the wrong number, slowly but surely the calls have gotten less frequent wrt call centres.
Let's Ride Posted August 25, 2019 Share OK. They shouldn't allow numbers to be used once off. I can see how people must be falling for this. There persistence. They seem to know way to much about me etc etc... Very worrying. Then they say that I must listen and respect them otherwise they will badmouth my business. I'm hopefully sure from the last conversation I had with them that they won't call back. They also say the previous caller was from the marketing department which is seperate so I must hear him out and that they sorry the lady said what she said.
