Toying with the idea of building up an Evo.

How are you guys/girls finding your Evo's?

Based on this thread it doesn’t look like anyone actually has one...

I have had one since early 2019

Fantastic bike

Had some issues with the fox rear shock leaking oil internally and have had to send it in twice for warranty claim. Both times it was fixed by fox at no cost, second time they replaced the shock.

I've got a friend who built an Epic with a 120mm Fox 34 Step Cast fork, dropper, and wide bars - he does everything from 300km+ rides, everests, and black descents on it. He loves it.

If I were to build any XC bike at the moment it would be an Epic Evo. On paper it has all the right numbers.

This is exactly what I'm thinking of doing.

Going hopefully ride one similar next weekend and will take it from there

I have a Lapierre XR929 with a 120mm Revelation on the front with a 120mm dropper and a Fox  push tuned rear shock..

It is magic.

I wouldn't run a 100mm fork on my bike unless I was really, really into racing fast marathons.

I would even leave it as is for the XCO series. If you run the 120mm with slightly more sag then the shift in HA, BB and SA is so minimal.

But small bump sensitivity/grip and plushness are hugely enhanced.

IMHO, if you own an epic or 100mm XCO/XCM bike, put a 120mm on. BUT if I was buying new 120mm/120mm trail bikes are so efficient these days I would rather just get something purpose built.
