Attention - Braamfontein Spruit users - Security meeting tonight

There is an open meeting between the Community Policing Forums, private security companies and cyclists using the Spruit to discuss the latest spate of attacks in the Spruit. . The meeting takes place MONDAY night at Rosebank union Church at 6 pm. Corner Sandton Drive and William Nicol. Please try to attend if you use the Spruit.

 

This is TONIGHT so please make an effort to attend if you are a spruit user.

Nothing constructive as far as I could gather, given I was still busy at the time - Security companies have issues with liability and the main suggestion is to ride in big groups - 6 or more

There was that. 

As Albert from JoziTrails also said, much of what is being done currently is reactive, but they're pursuing proactive methods as well. 

 

Also mentioned that they have an idea of some of the movements and working on disruptive measures along the hotspots. Also they're pushing on certain details surrounding the investigation to catch the guys. 

Reward money is allocated and SAPS/security are also utilising some vagrants for information.

 

One CAP officer committed to acting on information regarding Rustenburg road.

It would be good if Cortac would patrol the area with a drone... from their facebook page
