The problem is that I am lambasted by non-cycling people for the actions of these twats, even though I wouldn't ever do this myself. RobertWhitehead Posted January 20, 2020 Share One could argue that there's a very wide shoulder to safely cycle on, but I drive on that road at least once a month and cars and trucks use the yellow lane to allow faster drivers to pass. Just imagine you cycle along in your polystyrene shell of a helmet and a truck doing 80km/h drives into the yellow lane to allow a motorist to pass? You do not stand a chance. If it was the old N4 that would be a little less stupid as that road is quieter but this is a flippin' death wish. In fact i have seen trucks being both under and overtaken at the same time.
