merchant Posted April 6, 2020 Share Hi Guys, I'd like to have this frame chip (from handlebars turning) repaired back to factory. Suggestion for painters in Cape Town based please. Thanks!

Longbarn Killer Posted April 7, 2020 Share I bought a cheap airbrush and used some model paint to airbrush scratches out. Worked a treat. Not sure if it will work in your case, that looks a little more sinister than just a paint chip. There appears to be a crack in the carbon at the top of the chip. It may just be a crack in the paint, but if I was you I would take it to one of the carbon guys mentioned above for a proper analysis and if needed, a carbon repair too. snutkin@gmail.com

The carbon work Bogus does is not proper. His paintwork is better than anyone.CBR is great for carbon repairs, but very expensive in terms of paintwork.Cycledelic is unbelievable for artwork and painting, but don't do carbon repairs .Almost like you have to use 2 or 3 shops to get a job done properly at a reasonable price
Me rida my bicycle Posted April 9, 2020 Share Mike is brilliant, but you're going to hoes. They're not cheap. I don't agree with you. Have used CBR couple of times in the past for various reasons custom paint, stuck seat post and small crack and every time the price was really good, turnaround time was excellent and the bikes looked like new! Have heard of people waiting môre than a month for paint at other places. Sorry see you in Gauteng I know there's one there by you but I used CBR Cape Town. After waiting two weeks to get a price from Bogus, my LBS refered me to CBR Durdbanville. One phonecall, 5 minutes in their shop, and later that afternoon I got their quote. I accepted and booked our slot. Later got the Bogis quote .... more than double the price !!! Both quoted from the exact same email wording. Except CBR took the time to look at the bike and to provide a quote that related to the job .... YES, Bogus has some art pieces in his resume !! Absolute respect for this. For a normal repair ... better options out there. And truth be told ... CBR has some nice projects in their resume as well ????????????
