Bateleur1 Posted April 7, 2020 Share I like to have some of you input on what software you use to play music on your pc/laptops? I am in the process of sorting out all my MP3 as I am ordering and sorted my backups. Among that I have backup of backup of backups which include my mp3 music files. I would like to copy the files into specfic folders/directories and then listen to if from there and keep track of what is sorted and what not. The problem however is that most of the modern music players allows you to setup libraries from the software that point to multiple folders on your computer and you do the rest of the sorting (playlist management) in the software which for me does not really help me as you can loose track of the fisical files. Currently I listen music between Itunes, Groove Music and Windows media player but none of the three likes me dumping files in a folder and refreshes automatically. You still have to go into the various apps and do futher management there which is time consuming. Years ago I used Winamp which worked well for this. Has anybody used the later versions of WInamp as there seems to be some issues with it (ver 5.8) or are there other simple to use media players? Problem I have with groove is you can setup a playlist and point it to a folder. But when you add files to the folder it does not reload the playlist. Let's Ride Posted April 7, 2020 Share Honestly. For the amount Spotify charges its well worth it. Latest music. Any playlist you need. Want some meditation music, they have it. Don't have any music on my pcs now. Just no need. fanievb

RocknRolla Posted April 7, 2020 Share yeah, being assimilated into the apple ecosystem (I have an iphone) paying apple music for a family subscription with all you can eat music consumption is worth every sent. I deleted all my carefully curated, copied and pirated (shouldnt post these things on an open forum) mp3's a while ago.

Same here but have had cases where I reloaded a phone and not all the music I bought is available for download again. So I have a habit of making a copy of the music for these events. Cois Posted April 7, 2020 Share My brother had a Spotify premium family plan from the UK. And worked so well. It was before Spotify was in South Africa. But since they came to South Africa I stoped using it.The SA music scene sucks! The UK edition had a much better choice and better playlists. And the top 100 playlist wasn’t full of explicit songs like the Top 100 in SA.Been using the free version (with a load of adverts) but my dislike list is much longer than my like list. NicholasT Posted April 14, 2020 Share I used to be a Foobar2000 fanboy, but have since moved to AIMP for mp3/FLAC etc. That is if I’m not using Spotify.
