Pretty certain it's a scam... Couple of red flags: 1. No one selling sports equipment will be regarded as an essential service. 2. Wattbikes are closer to 60k new, you're looking at around 30k second hand.3. No website is usually a red flag.4. No proper payment gateway such as PayGate, PayFast, PayPal etc should also raise red flags. Get your dad to lay a case of fraud at your local Police Station. Unfortunately this will probably be school fees. Quagga

T_Boss Posted April 21, 2020 Share Sports equipment is definately not an essential service, so I am pretty sure you have been scammed. Was payment done via EFT? If so the bank can provide some recourse if you report it as a fraudulent transaction.

You can search for companies on the site http://www.sacompany.co.zaFor what its worth, Full Cicle Gym Equipment is a registered company, registered to a PO Box. Andreas_187 Posted April 22, 2020 Share I also saw that advert on FB. I saw they were in Joburg and closed it immediately (I'm in CPT).Nowadays, I won't buy anything unless I can walk in, hand over cash and walk away with my goods. That is unless it is a huge retailer. arendoog and Vetplant
Jono Waddell Posted April 22, 2020 Share The are a bit suspect. I notices their ad's on Instagram, and tried to find a web site. Could not find anything for them on a Google search.

Cylon Posted April 22, 2020 Share Sorry to add fuel to the flames but it definitely looks like your dad has been scammed. 10 mins of internet sleuthing found that the Full Cicle Gym Equipment website was only registered on 8 April 2020 and in the terms and conditions on their site they list their registered company number as 'ABN 31 715 334 460' which is in fact an Australian business number registered to a trust that trades as Gray's Health & Fitness Centre. The Ts&Cs on both websites are identical except for the parts where Full Cicle Gym Equipment replaced Gray’s Health & Fitness Pty Ltd with their own name:http://www.fcgymequipments.co.za/terms-and-conditions-of-sale.htmlhttps://graysfitness.com.au/terms-and-conditions-of-sale/ Not to mention the other evidence others have already stated above (typo in company name, not answering phone calls, too good to be true selling price, essential service certificate etc) it seems pretty obvious that they've ripped off the content from this Australian website and are using it to scam people. You should definitely lay a charge at the police station ASAP for what it's worth and warn your friends and family. Sadly, the number of scammers trying to take advantage of the pandemic situation will likely increase in the days ahead. The same physical address and contact details are also being used on this safety surgical mask website which is another area which scammers are targeting (PPE). Stay safe people!
