Parma Posted May 19, 2020 Share Hello All, Taking a long shot here. I have two Assos T Equipe bibs that are in good condition but the chamois are worn out. Can the chamois be replaced? Has anyone heard of it being done? Regards Clinton

Has anyone heard of it being done? Regards Clinton Very good question, I recall seeing something on their website related to a repair service if needed, I am sure that chamois replacement could also be an option, not sure about in SA though. I would also be interested in an option of this nature.

Thomo Posted May 19, 2020 Share Hard to believe that the bibs are ok but chamois are shot, but I suppose not impossible... they are Assos after all. You could try any/all of the local manufacturers. (some are more likely to help than others)Howzit Sports used to be really helpful with this sort of thing, but I don't think they are around anymore. So maybe Enjoy, Rapid, Ciovita or Anatomic perhaps.? obree Posted May 19, 2020 Share I have a pair from 2012, chamois still 100% but the Lycra is stretched now. Only use on my indoor trainer so no UV damage. You are better off getting new shorts than replacing the chamois as the new Lycra will be of greater benefit than a new chamois. Think of the unstitching and restitching

The Ouzo Posted July 8, 2020 Share Has anyone had this done and at what cost ?I'm contemplating if its worth buying new bibs or getting the chamois changed. I've got a pair or pearl iizumi's, the chamois is 2 pieces, and inner and an outer. The inner piece seems to have come unstuck and now shifts to one side and bunches up.My wife tried to put a few stitches in it to hold it in place, but I had to take the stitches out as they aggravated me. The Ouzo Posted July 8, 2020 Share After posting earlier I popped on the Pearl Izumi SA page, I see they have a lifetime warranty.Only thing is the bib needs to be un-altered.I popped them a mail anyway, lets see if they come back with anything, its a long shot I know. Still poor from them, at the very least they could have taken the time to reply with a "sorry, not sorry" response.

I was taking a chance with a warranty repair/replacement, but they missed an opportunity to possible suggest a replacement article. Right now with everyone turning over their coins 6 times before spending, brand retention should be a priority.
