Cradle Safety

Any opinion on riding alone at the cradle during the week. I am concerned that with Covid people being more desperate would increase attacks. My daughter and I are considering riding there during the week . however I also would like to have a ride on my own as well.

I got taken out by a fence stretched across the mtb track about 75m below Lanseria circle ie just starting descent down hill towards Toadbury last Wednesday morning. I was doing around 25-30kmhr chasing the twisties and had about 8m to stop...big skids, got caught in the 1,5m high mesh and went OTB with some medium/minor injuries and broken gps mount and scratches etc...This morning the fence was back despite us bending it against the boundary fence. I have now moved it further away (say no more)...I have raised it with Conserv security and we will be chatting to the trail maint. people etc...It nay be being used as a temporary gate but at face value stretching it across the track is apparently malicious. I have taken a pic but want to escalate via the channels for now. Just be vigilant...IMHO its likely just a pissed ff resident or local....

In general though the Cradle is pretty safe even during the week...Road may seem safer at face value as you are never out of sight like you sometimes are on the Mtb trail, but on the road one is vulnerable to a quick car stop and bundle the bike into the car etc....I ride the Cradle around 4 times a week mostly MTB but also some road bike and I have never felt in any real danger.
